    The worst form of authentication is the kind you can never change because its based off a physical trait. Once that biometric characteristic gets compromised, it's compromised forever.

    Then you can revert to the other types that are still in use. Of course bio-metrics are not going to completely replace traditional security.

    Okay... That's why biometrics are just one factor in most systems? Phones often use fingerprints as a primary factor and only occasionally ask for PINs or passwords. But if you use your phone for anything really serious, you should be using other more robust factors.

    I personally want an option on my phone to use PIN and biometric at the same time, not a one-or-the-other.

    So, for the rest of us who are just looking to keep out regular people (not skillful hackers) out of our mundane data containing phones, this is awesome and I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully they put one on the front glass and one on the back (why not both?).
